Thursday June 28th marked the first night of the Harriman Fire Dept. Carnival.
Due to commitment of resources from the Harriman Fire Dept for the function,
Monroe FD was placed on automatic response to all calls in the Harriman Fire
District. At approximately 9:30 PM that Thursday night, the Monroe Fire Dept.
was dispatched automatic response to a reported serious Motor Vehicle Accident
with entrapment at Rt. 17 and Grove St. in the Harriman Fire District.
Responding personnel were updated enroute to the scene of at least one occupant
requiring extrication, possibly two. Monroe Chief Tankasali arrived first on
scene and established Harriman Command advising units of 1 occupant requiring
extrication. Monroe FD responded 1 Engine and 1 Rescue to the scene, Harriman FD
also responded with 1 Rescue Pumper from their Carnival. Monroe and Harriman
crews quickly extricated one occupant and assisted EMS with several others.
Monroe and Woodbury EMS transported the patients.
