On Sunday, June 29th, at approximately 9:15AM, the Monroe Fire Dept. was dispatched to a reported
possible Structure Fire on County Rt. 105. Assistant Chief Jeff Mahran was first on scene and
advised responding personnel of a fully involved Trailer home with an exposure problem. To
complicate things even more, the fire was located in a remote area off of County Rt. 105 where
there are no fire hydrants and the trailer was a larger version of a normal trailer home.
Assistant Chief Mahran requested tankers from Harriman FD, Woodbury
FD, and Cornwall FD to assist with water. The fire was extinguished utilizing several handlines
and damage was limited to the exterior on the exposure trailer. Chester FD provided standby coverage in Monroe's quarters.
Monroe FD was also assisted by Monroe Ambulance and Orange County Fire Investigation unit.
