On Thursday, June 14th, at approximately 3:30 AM, the Monroe Fire Dept. was dispatched to a reported Motor Vehicle Accident on Forest Ave. in the Village of Monroe. Asst. Chief Chalupa arrived first on scene and advised of one occupant unconscious in the vehicle and requiring extrication. All Monroe Units responded to the scene to assist with the extrication which involved removal of a tree to gain access to the patient. Chief Tankasali requested Harriman FD to assist Asst. Chief Maneri with establishing a landing zone for an inbound Medivac at Smith Clove Park. The patient was extricated quickly and transported to Westchester Trauma Center by StatFlite.
