On Saturday September 18th, 1999 the Mombasha Fire Co./Monroe Fire Dept. attended the 84th annual Orange County Volunteer Fireman's Association parade in Chester. The Mombasha Fire Co. was honored to be chosen as the first dept. in the Escort Division (first dept. in line of march behind the host company). The Mombasha Fire Co. won an apparatus trophy for 2nd Best Appearing Rescue unit.

The Mombasha Fire Co. also won a raffle being run by the Orange County Fireman's Musuem committee. The prize for that raffle was a 1923 Model T Ford.
