On Friday, January 15th, at approximately 4:20 PM, the Monroe Fire Dept. was dispatched to
a reported Motor Vehicle Accident on Hickory Hollow Rd. The location of the call was at the end
of a narrow and windy road which begins on Sevin Springs Mountain Rd and ends up near St. Rt. 17 Westbound.
The accident was caused by extremely icy conditions on the roadway which proved dangerous and difficult for fire
apparatus to reach the scene. Due to the extreme difficulty reaching the scene, Incident Commander Past Chief Michael Terracino requested
mutual aid assistance. South Blooming Grove FD provided 1 engine to assist with emergency services personnel safety, Woodbury FD provided
1 engine to setup a medivac landing zone, and Harriman FD provided 1 engine standby in Monroe's Station 1. State Police and Monroe EMS operated
at the scene with the Monroe Fire Dept. Monroe units were back in service by 7:30PM
