Mutual Aid Dive Team Call

On Tuesday, October 28th, at approximately 3:52 AM, the Monroe Fire Dept. was dispatched to a Mutual Aid request for the Dive Rescue team to respond to the Town of Newburgh/New Windsor. The request came from the Vails Gate Fire Dept. and the Goodwill Fire Dept. who were operating at a submerged vehicle. The vehicle had left the roadway at Old Little Britain Rd.(Goodwill Fire District) and entered Washington Lake (Vails Gate Fire District). Initially reports were that the vehicles operator was found, however additional occupants could not be confirmed. Monroe Fire Dept. Dive team responded with Rescue 542 and a crew of divers. The divers were able to locate the vehicle in the water and confirm that there were no other occupants. The Monroe Fire Dept. divers also assisted with the vehicle removal. The Dive Team and Rescue 542 were back in service at 9:20AM.
