On Wednesday April 14, 1999 the Monroe Fire Dept. was dispatched to a Mutual Aid Full Response to a Structure Fire in Museum Village (South Blooming Grove Fire District). Monroe responded with 3 Engines, 1 Tower Ladder, 1 Rescue, and about 15 firefighters. First arriving units encountered a wooden museum building, which dated back to the 1800's, well involved with fire. Working with South Blooming Grove Fire Dept., the fire was brought under control in about an hour. Although the original fire building was a total loss, 2 exposure buildings suffered minimal damage. 1 Firefighter from SBGFD was taken to Arden Hill Hospital and treated for exhaustion.
