On Friday, October 31st, at approximately 8:30 AM, the Monroe Fire Dept. was dispatched to a reported MVA involving a fuel truck into a building. First arriving Assistant Chief Jeff Mahran advised units of a Fuel Oil truck that had struck and entered a Multiple Occupancy building on North Main St. The building involved had commercial occupancies on the 1st floor with apartments on the second floor. Luckily, none of the occupants were injured in the incident. Due to the nature of the incident, a helicopter was requested to transport the patient to a trauma center. Assistant Chief Mahran also request Goshen Fire Dept.'s collapse rescue unit to assist with the stabilization of the building. Woodbury Fire Dept. provided a Standby engine and also assisted with the Helicopter landing zone. Units were back in service at 12PM.
