Mutual Aid to Harriman FD
Structure Fire Ochard Dr.

On Wednesday, January 28th, at approximately 3:30PM, the Monroe Fire Dept. was dispatched to standby their quarters for a Structure Fire on Orchard Drive. in the Town of Monroe (Harriman Fire District). Upon arrival, Harriman Car 1 (Chief Bill Geiler) found an occupied single family dwelling with smoke showing. Chief Geiler requested Monroe FD to the scene. Monroe responded with Engine 543. Engine 543's crew were initially assigned vertical ventilation and immediately opened up the roof. E543's crew then assisted with interior attack operations. Monroe Chief Jeff Mahran assisted as Operations Officer and Assistant Chief Vini Tankasali assisted with interior attack operations. Through an aggressive interior attack, Harriman, Monroe and Woodbury Firefighters were able to hold the fire to the basement area. Harriman Command requested assistance from Lakeside FD, Woodbury FD, Tuxedo FD and Washingtonville FD provided the FAST team.
