On Monday November 6, 2000 at 3:10pm, the Monroe Fire Dept. was dispatched to a reported brush fire on Rayewood Dr. Upon arrival Monroe units found a brush fire burning between Rayewood Dr and the KJ cemetery. Monroe firefighters were able to contain the fire to approximately 1-2 acres due to quick actions of the first arriving units . Monroe Lt. Vini Tankasali requested mutual aid one engine Harriman standby Monroe Station One. Units were back in service by approximately 5:30pm.
