On Thursday February 17th at approximately 11:15 PM, the Monroe Fire Dept. was dispatched to a reported structure fire at 37 Satmar Dr. in the Village of Kiryas Joel. First arriving units encountered a 3 story multiple occupancy dwelling with fire in the basement #4 side apartment. An aggressive interior attack and search were made by firefighters. Interior units were able to hold the fire to the original fire apartment and limited smoke damage to two other apartments. Woodbury FD assisted at the scene with a FAST team, and Harriman FD was on standby in Monroe's Station 1. Fire investigation was conducted by Orange County Car 6. Monroe units were back in service by 1:45 am.
