On Saturday, September 6th, at approximately 9AM, the Monroe Fire Dept. responded Mutual Aid to the Woodbury Fire District for a Working Structure Fire on Bakertown Rd. Woobury FD originally received a call for a reported Smoke Investigation on Bakertown RD shortly before 9AM. Woodbury Car 3 (Asst. Chief Don Prizzilo) arrived on scene and advised units of a large structure fully involved. Asst. Chief Prizzilo immediately request tankers from MonroeFD and HarrimanFD due to the fire being located in a non-hydrant area. MonroeFD responded with E537 and responded shortly there after with E536 for additional manpower. The building involved in fire was an abandoned building with no tennants. At one time the building appeared to have 10 appartments and was used as the main building in a bungalow community. Monroe Units were on scene until approximately 2PM. Additional Tankers were requested from Lakeside, Tuxedo, Washingtonville, Chester, and Cornwall FD's. South Blooming Grove FD provided standby Coverage for Monroe and Cornwall provided standby coverage for Woodbury.
